  • Welcome!

    I'm Lora, mom to two crazy kiddos and lover of photography and all things birthy. My photography style is light and natural. I try to mix formal portraiture with candids and lifestyle to create a true picture of where your family is at right at this moment. I know that moments are fleeting and that the time we spend together will be spent capturing photos that I hope you can look back on with joy for years to come.

Charlotte Newborn Photography: {Baby Sammy}

Baby Sammy’s pictures were a bit of a challenge for me, not because he was different from any other newborn, but because I had to stop a few times and just cuddle with him. You see, I have been hoping to meet Sammy from before he was born. I got to be one of the first to know when his mama was pregnant, I got to spend a lot of time with her during her prenatal care and it was my hands that Sammy swam into when he was born. I love this little guy, his parents, and his proud Auntie, as well as their extended family (who I’ve also photogrpaphed forever and that’s how I met Sammy’s parents in the first place!). I love how blessings come full circle! Welcome to the world, Sammy!

Charlotte Birth Photography: {Baby R}

When I met Baby R’s parents before the birth, we talked about how it would be important for them to let me know as soon as they thought she may be in labor, because the birth of her first son was pretty fast. When she called this time, I didn’t wait long before I headed to the hospital. This couple did amazing, working together, one contraction at a time. It always fills my heart up to see a husband truly in awe of his wife as this Daddy was. He knew and appreciated how much strength she had during each and every moment. I’m so honored to have been there for Baby R’s entry into the world!  Dad even got to catch!

Charlotte Newborn Photography: {Baby N}

Baby N slept like a dream! I love a snoozing baby! Her grandfather made the beautiful wooden boat cradle and I simply had to get a photo of her in it. I love it!!!

Babies! Babies! Babies! {Charlotte Newborn Photography}

This week has been a busy one for babies! I photographed three newborns this week and loved every minute of it. Two girls and one boy, two first babies and one little brother, three tiny perfect people 🙂

Charlotte Family Photography: {The F Family}

I have to admit, I was slightly worried when this family booked their session since there were no “children.” These kids were pretty darn grown and I was fearful that I wouldn’t know how to get good smiles out of them (little kids are easy, I know how to be a goofball all day long! I figure it is probably inappropriate to tickle a teenager…). I needn’t have worried. The “kids” were fantastic, gorgeous and had no fear of the camera. They even brought their classic truck for some fun pictures. What a nice gift for their parents!
